What is silk noil?

silk noil

Silk noil are the shorter tangled fibers of grade A mulberry silk. They are also sometimes referred to as raw silk, these are waste fibers that come from the inner part of a cocoon that are removed from the combing process.

Unlike the typical smooth and lustrous pure mulberry silk fabric we all know and love, silk noil lacks the sheen and has a nubby, slightly rough texture. It feels like a buttery cotton or a linen fabric but has all the properties of pure mulberry silk. Silk noil is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial.
